The pure Romanesque style, close to primitive Cistercian art, of the Abbey of Boscodon (Hautes-Alpes) makes it a masterpiece of monastic religious art. It is renowned for the harmony of the volumes whose layouts, shapes, and proportions have been imagined according to the golden ratio, also called divine proportion. The elements, like the vaults, are thus repeated according to the number seven that corresponds to the seven days of the week. The site is also famous for the starkness of the abbey and the chapel, the luminosity of its stones, and the remarkable acoustics of the choir.
