The Luberon massif is a range of the Prealps that stretches from east to west over 37.2 mi (60 km) long and 3.1 mi (5 km) wide on average between the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and Vaucluse departments. Located 43.4 mi (70 km) north of Marseille, it is bounded by the Calavon valley and the Monts de Vaucluse to the north and the Durance to the south. It mainly consists of the Grand Luberon and the Petit Luberon, separated by the Aiguebrun river that crosses it from north to south.
