The Domaine de Paulon is the stronghold of the Blanc manade (herd) and family, which in this photo brings together three generations to drive the horses to the beaches of Camargue. It extends over 618 acres (250 ha) in the heart of the Camargue Regional Park between Arles, the Sambuc, the Rhône, and the Vaccarès pond. At the heart of the estate is the Mas de Paulon, one of the oldest farmhouses in Camargue. It was built in the 15th century to serve as a commandery for the Knights Hospitallers.
