A listed and protected site

The islet and the fort of Brégançon, in the Var department, are protected in several ways. They are first of all listed as an archaeological site, even if the discoveries made there remain minor. The area has also been classified as a natural site recognized for its picturesque character since December 27, 1924. Finally, a decree of September 25, 1968, listed both the islet and its fort as Historical Monuments.
