The Massif des Ocres forms a sandy islet with remarkable colors which stretches over 15.5 mi (25 km) from Goult to Gignac via Roussillon, Gargas, Villars, and Rustrel. Shaped in the 20th century by industrial activity, its natural landscapes were transformed with the opening of quarries. Today, the Massif des Ocres is a listed and protected area integrated into the Luberon Regional Nature Park. Labeled a UNESCO World Geopark and a Biosphere Reserve, it aims to obtain the Grand Site de France title.
