A listed airport terminal

The renovation of the Grande Galerie of the Air and Space Museum at Le Bourget was completed in 2019. The 233-metre long former Art Deco terminal has been restored to its glamour. At the heart of the building, the Salle des Huit Colonnes has once again become a reception hall, although the travellers of yesteryear have now been replaced by museum visitors. The rectilinear concrete terminal, built by the architect Georges Labro – second prize of Rome – for the 1937 World Fair, is of great sobriety. Bathed in light thanks to its immense glass roof, it has been listed in the supplementary inventory of historical monuments since 1994.
