After mating, The female village weaver lays 2 or 3 eggs, about one day apart. They are white, pale blue or green, of solid hue or dotted with red-brown. About 0.4 inch (1.5cm) wide and 0.8 to 1 inch (2 to 2.5cm) long, they are incubated for about two weeks by the female. The nestlings, fed with insects, remain for about twenty days before being independent and leave the nest.
