A journey through time
The Cité du train-Patrimoine SNCF in Mulhouse offers a real journey through time. In the era of the TGV speed records (357 mph or 574.8 km/h in 2007), the superb steam locomotives on display in the museum allow us to measure the technological progress made in 150 years. In the special area dedicated to steam propulsion, a steam locomotive from 1949 is set in motion every 30 minutes, amidst noise and smoke.
