A 1,068 ft (600 m) long dike protects the Quai des Milliardaires at Port Vauban in Antibes and carries the lighthouse that marks its entrance. Built on the initiative of Camille Rayon, a hero of the Resistance and the creator of many ports on the French Riviera, this quay accommodates yachts with a draft of 22.9 ft chartered by wealthy boaters. The Côte d'Azur thus hosts 40% of the world yachting, which sails in the Caribbean in winter and moors in the ports of Antibes, Nice, or Cannes in summer.
