Located between the castle and the original stables, the Cour Colbert is the courtyard of honor and the main courtyard of the Haras National du Pin. It pays homage to the founder of the administration of the royal stud farms of Louis XIV, Jean-Baptiste Colbert, born on August 29, 1619, in Reims and died on September 6, 1683, in Paris. The Haras National du Pin has several other smaller and less prestigious side yards behind the stables, such as Cour Garsault, Cour d'Aure, Cour Lambesc, Cour d'Abzac, Cour du Breil, and Cour Nointel.
