A Haute-Marne tradition

The GHM foundry in Sommevoire continues the long tradition of art casting in the Haute-Marne. Most of the buildings date from the mid-19th century. The company uses the thousands of moulds in its possession to reissue old models. The moulding workshop is the oldest building in the factory. 150 years ago, it housed a blast furnace, extinguished in the 20th century. It is a large workshop with a wooden framework. Castings are still being moulded here. Today, the GHM Company is known worldwide for the quality and fluidity of its cast iron.
