The Lakes of the Orient Forest special conservation zone covers 58,255 acres (23,575 ha) across 21 municipalities. It extends inside the Orient Forest Regional Nature Park and consists of three types of environments: forests dominated by oaks, crop sectors, and reservoir lakes' wetlands. Such variety attracts a significant ornithological diversity. More than 250 bird species, including some 130 nesting birds, frequent the Orient Forest Regional Nature Park. The three lakes of the park are also teeming with fish.
