Notre-Dame-de-Reims cathedral is a major site of classical Gothic art of the 13th century in Europe. It served as a coronation site for 31 kings of France throughout its history. Its 124 ft high nave (38 m) surpasses Notre-Dame-de-Paris' (108 ft / 33 m). During restorations on Reims Cathedral's forecourt in 2007, archaeologists from INRAP (National Institute for Preventive Archaeological Research) discovered a graveyard dating from the 7th century.
