0
It is found in Pakistan. The fungus Aspergillus tubigensis grows on the surface of plastic and secretes enzymes capable of destroying polymers. In other words, a plastic-eating mushroom. The team of researchers hired by Sehroon Khan from the World Agroforestry Center based in Nairobi (Kenya) hopes to use and industrialize this natural process in plastic waste treatment plants.
