A former covered grain hall
0
0
The covered hall of the rural town of Mirepoix in the Ariège department was inaugurated in 1885. First intended for the grain trade, it now hosts markets on Monday and Thursday mornings and all kinds of municipal events. While the site has long lost its grain measures, it has retained a cast iron and metal silhouette reminiscent of the Parisian halls of the same period. The floor was redone in 1990 and is today in Pyrenean marble, an emblematic material of the Languedoc region.
