A former place of pilgrimage, Saint-Michel Chapel is today a walled-up sanctuary forbidden to access. The same rules apply to the Saint-Michel islet, on which disembarking is regulated. Religious services are sometimes celebrated near the chapel from boats gathered around the islet, and festive or cultural events are occasionally organized around the site using the same processes.
