A fast predator

The aggressive behavior of the Grey Reef Shark allows it to dominate most of the reef shark species, despite its relatively small size. An agile predator, it can swim up to 31 miles per hour (50 km/h) in pursuit of its preys. It feeds mainly on bone fish and cephalopods (squid, octopus), more rarely on crustaceans (crab, lobster). With its very developed sense of smell, it tracks odors over long distances and can determine the origin of a sound farther than 656 feet (200 m).
