A dizzying staircase

The Plaza Athénée Hotel opened in 1913, at 25 avenue Montaigne, in a district that has now become the heart of Parisian haute couture. From the facade onwards, the Plaza red is a dominant colour, from the geraniums on the balconies to the window blinds. Inside the luxurious palace, the red is more discreet, but it is found on the carpets of the main staircase (photo). Depending on the angle of the image, the staircase designed by the architect of the hotel Charles Lefebvre seems to have an infinite number of floors.
