The Haut-Jura Regional Nature Park covers nearly 440,000 acres (178,000 ha) across the two regions of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. It is made up of medium mountains (2 624 ft / 800 m), wide alluvial forests in the valleys, but also spruces and mountain pines on the heights of Crêt de la Neige (5 643 ft / 1,720 m). Its fauna, avifauna, and flora are under close surveillance, and a 2030 Plan Ambition Climat (Ambition Climate Plan) is underway to ensure the sustainability of the park and its inhabitants.
