A distinctive dove-grey coat

The Cotentin donkey (Equus asinus) of the Domaine d’Esthine is distinctive by its dove-grey coat. The foals keep its fluffy stuffing, which is very popular with children, all during its first year. Its adorable white muzzle and straight mane give it a soft plush look. The Cotentin donkey reaches adulthood between 3 and 4 years. Its back has a crucial band of black hair that runs down to its shoulders. Endowed with great intelligence, it was not uncommon in the last century to see donkeys carrying milk jugs returning by themselves to the farm after the milking of cows in the pastures.
