A disproportionate corolla
0
0
The Alpine Campanula (Campanula alpestris) surprises by the size of its flower that seems disproportionate to the length of the stem. The length of the corolla actually reaches 1.18 to 1.57 in (3 to 4 cm) for a plant measuring 1.18 to 4.72 in (3 to 12 cm) altogether. Such characteristics often give the impression that the flower springs directly from the rocks. The Alpine Campanula consists of solitary flowers blossoming at the tips of stems emerging here and there from a fertile rosette of spreading leaves.
