A courted female giraffe

On this photography, it is pretty easy to identify both giraffes thanks to their size and to the shape of their ossicones. The darker one, on the left side, with larger and hairless horns, is a male. The lighter one is a female. She is actually in oestrus. It has been a while now that the male follows her. He smells her rumps and its urine to analyze its breeding condition. To ensure this, he uses an organ located between the palate and the nose, called the Jacobson organ.
