On the heights of Saint-Aubin-sur-Yonne, a path called guette-bateaux (boat-watch) reminds visitors that here, a guard used to watch the boats carrying goods in order to make them pay taxes and tolls. Under Louis XII, a long winter lasting from November to February produced frosts that pushed the course of the Yonne to deviate as it is today. Though the port of Cézy was abandoned, the Épizy stone bridge, crossed by a towpath, still spans the river.
