Fresh and convivial, rosé wine has made the reputation of Provence as a wine-growing region. Benefited by its Mediterranean climate, Provence produces 38% of the rosé wines in France and 8% worldwide and has the largest AOC vineyard for rosé wine. Having become the region’s star product, rosé has been elevated to the rank of specialty and art of living. Against this trend, the Château Malherbe wine estate of Bormes-les-Mimosas has built its renown on its white wines, even though it also produces rosé wines on each of its two terroirs. They are vinified through a long cold maceration and matured on fine lees.
