The construction of the current chapel consecrated to the Virgin Mary under the name Notre-Dame-de-Victoire began in 1657 and ended in 1661. Its location a few meters from the top of the Sainte-Victoire mountain complicated its edification. It was first necessary to create a genuine network of paths serving the neighboring municipalities both north and south of the mountain to supply the site.
