A climate conducive to flax culture
0
0
Flax is a particularly technical culture that requires know-how, specific equipment, responsiveness, and timing. Each year gives birth to a particular vintage, and the quality of the fibers will determine the future of the harvest. Flax grows on its own thanks to the alternation of water and sun and does not require irrigation. Normandy experiences a temperate oceanic climate with low seasonal amplitudes, mild winters, and clement summers. The region benefits from numerous rainy days in fall and winter, and its coastal areas experience milder winters and sunnier summers than the hinterland.
