Protected from the light pollution engendered by large cities, the sky over the Meuse coast is particularly dark at night and dazzling during the day. Around Lake Madine, a microclimate limits the formation of autumn and winter fogs and allows clear sunrises over its waters. Its 2,718 acres (1,100 ha) are home to more than 250 species of birds that wake up at first light. The installation of an observatory in the landscape has allowed us to observe them without disturbing them.
