The town of Saint-Claude is a sub-prefecture of the Jura department. This commune, which numbered 9,103 'Sanclaudiens' in 2018, is dedicated to a Benedictine monk from the abbey of Saint-Oyand - its founding site - whose intact body was found in Saint-Claude in 1160, i.e. 460 years after his death.
