The Saint-Pierre parish church of Castellar in the Alpes-Maritimes department considers Saint Peter as its patron and has Saint Sebastian as its holder. It is therefore placed under the patronage of Saint Peter, considered the Prince or first of the apostles. As such, Christians ascribe him the capacity to open and close the gates of heaven. As for Saint Sebastian, who gave his name to the hill on which the village of Castellar extends and a chapel, he is considered one of the fourteen auxiliary saints.
