Saint-Barthélémy Church in Lauzerte was erected in 1241, shortly after the town's founding. Built near the market hall, it only corresponded to the first span of the current church and later became a parish church after the destruction of Notre-Dame-des-Vaux in the 16th century. From 1591, the church was enlarged, and the work lasted until 1654, giving the building its perpendicular shape. After the construction of the facade in 1815, part of the vaults – including those of the nave – was built at the end of the 19th century. Saint-Barthélémy Church has been listed as a Historical Monument since October 6, 1976.
