A cathedral known from 1155⠀

Known since 1155, Notre-Dame du Bourguet cathedral was built in place of an older building at the foot of the town of Forcalquier on a crossroads site where a millennial market is held. Its primitive Latin cross plan with a central nave in broken barrel, a Romanesque transept, and a Gothic apse was modified in the 17th century. Enhancement works added the side naves as well as the upper part of the bell tower and the campanile visible in this photo.
