A cape between two beaches

Located in the municipality of Le Marin in the south of Martinique, Cap Macré juts out towards the Atlantic Ocean. Fringed with grape trees, it is bordered along its entire length by two light-sand beaches: Cap Macré beach to the south and Anse Grosse Roche beach to the north. These two beaches meet at the tip of the cape that almost forms a right angle. They constitute a continuous uncrowded space with a terrestrial access protected by the vast forest domain of Grand Macabou and a body of water relatively sheltered from the waves by the coral reef. Here, one can see the banks of sargassum (pelagic algae without roots) which, transported by ocean currents, wash up on the beach.
