In the Vaucluse department, the Carpentras Canal crosses the Sorgue river thanks to its most emblematic structure, the Galas aqueduct bridge. Its main route of 42.8 mi (69 km), to which is added a network of secondary and tertiary canals of 450 m (725 km), is punctuated by some one hundred and fifty stone bridges and the Euze pumping station of Caromb. The Carpentras Canal also comprises the Cinq Cantons aqueduct bridge located in the municipality of Loriol-du-Comtat, which allows it to cross the departmental road linking Carpentras to Orange.
