A section of the Lalique Museum in Wingen-sur-Moder traces the brilliant career of René Lalique. Alternately a goldsmith, a renowned jeweller, and an innovative master glassmaker, this brilliant jack-of-all-trades participated in the decoration of great liners such as the “Normandie”, the “Paris”, the “de Grasse”, and the “Ile-de-France”. He also contributed to the design of prestigious trains such as the Orient-Express and the Côte d’Azur-Pullman-Express, for which he created an unparalleled modern decoration. The great creativity of René Lalique brought him well-deserved worldwide recognition. In 2018, the Maison Lalique celebrated its 130th birthday.
