A behavior of agressive breastfeeding
0
0
During breastfeeding, the Przewalski mare gradually becomes aggressive towards her foal to prepare its weaning. This controlled behavior of maternal aggression begins as early as two to three weeks after birth. The process starts with an attack every ten feedings or so and develops during the second and third months when the foal becomes less delicate. Ears back, the mare can strike the ground, whip her tail, or kick or bite the foal away without injuring it.
