Originally populated by farmers and fishermen, the commune of Le Robert in the southeast of Martinique is today resolutely turned towards the sea. Two hilly points - Pointe Larose in the south and Pointe Jean-Claude in the north - advance towards the sea and surround the Baie du Robert, renowned for its beauty. It is protected by white bottoms, coral reefs, and a string of ten islets that make the reputation of the site. The white bottom of Le Robert, also called Baignoire de Trapèze, resembles an immense underwater beach. It forms a protected and secure natural setting where the sandy bottom made of bioclastic debris and coarse white sands is almost flush with the surface of the crystal clear, shallow water.
