A bargain hunters' haven
0
0
In the town of Lectoure in the Gers department, the local castle has become renowned among bargain hunters with the installation of 30 second-hand antique dealers. They share the 107,640 square feet (10,000 m²) of the former 18th-century hospital at the entrance to the site. The fortress itself is the former castle of the Counts of Armagnac, built in the 14th century, part of the remains of which became a prison for a time. The visit to the site also allows discovering the old chapel formerly frequented by the hospital's patients.
