A 360° view onto the Caravelle peninsula

At the top of the basaltic peak that dominates the Caravelle peninsula on the Atlantic coast of Martinique rises the Caravelle lighthouse, but also, about 49 ft (15 m) to the northwest, an orientation table. Located some 525 ft (160 m) above sea level, it offers a remarkable 360° panorama over the entire peninsula. From there, visitors can observe the bays of Trésor and Galion, a large part of the 988 acres (400 ha) of the Caravelle nature reserve, the fishing village of Tartane, and - in good weather - the Commonwealth island of Dominica located 25.4 miles (41 km) northwest of the coast of Martinique.
