The Louis Vuitton Foundation is a formidable technical achievement born of the meeting between Bernard Arnault and Frank Gehry in 2001. In 2006, the project was launched and the land was leased by the City of Paris for a 55-year period. In 2007, the building permit was obtained and seven months later, the earthworks and moulded walls began. Civil engineering work began in 2009. On October 27, 2014, the Louis Vuitton Foundation opened its wings to the public.
