The four terraces of the Louis Vuitton Foundation offer a breathtaking view of the Bois de Boulogne, the Jardin d’Acclimatation and the La Défense business district. An office building, the Grande Arche is also a cultural venue. On the roof of the building, a 1,200 m² art gallery organises temporary exhibitions dedicated to photography. At the foot of the Grande Arche is a vast pedestrian esplanade of 31 hectares, always lively, bordered by the CNIT. The first building in the district, in 1958, the Centre National des Industries et Techniques became a shopping centre.
