The François-Lang Music Library

After the Second World War, Henry and Isabel Goüin, the owners of the Royaumont Abbey, gathered together the music collection, art objects and musical instruments left by their brother and brother-in-law François Lang (1908-1944), who had disappeared in Auschwitz. They transformed the room above the former kitchens into a private music room, dedicated to the memory of the pianist. In 2007, the Royaumont Foundation bought the collection and kept it in this symbolic place. After extensive restoration work, the François-Lang Music Library opened in 2009 for musicians and researchers.
