The Alexandre-III bridge is the most decorated and monumental in Paris. Since 1900, its single arch spans the Seine and links the 7th and 8th arrondissements. At the ends of the bridge, four five-pointed candelabras display a round of Cupids on their pedestals. The little boys carry garlands of flowers, surrounded by fish and shellfish. They are the work of the sculptor Henri-Désiré Gauquié (1858-1927). Scallops are also present on the central post and on the glass globes. The bridge has been a listed monument since 1975.
