What is the country with the most UNESCO World Heritage Sites?

Italy (Europe) and China (Asia) tie for the top of the ranking. The two countries both have 55 UNESCO World Heritage sites. Italy enjoys its invaluable cultural heritage, notably with the historic centers of Rome, Florence and Venice. China enjoys a unique natural heritage with Mount Sanqingshan National Park and Jiuzhaigu Valley.
