Eleven new biosphere reserves in nine countries! UNESCO has just announced the expansion of the areas it protects around the world. For the past fifty years, the international institution has granted certification to certain territories to increase awareness and the necessary protection of natural resources. This year, three countries join the list: Georgia, Chad and Zambia. To date, the network has 738 reserves in 134 countries.
