A population multiplied by 10!
Thanks to numerous conservation efforts, the population of the golden lion tamarind has increased tenfold in 50 years. This species of monkey, with an orange-yellow mane, lives only in the state of Rio de Janeiro. They were less than 200 in the early 1970s, they are now 3,000. Photo credit: Smithsonian Institution
