An expected birth since 150 years !
Its beautiful red plumage aroused to envy. The green-winged macaw, a species of bird native to South America, was threatened with extinction due to poaching. Since 2015, the NGO Rewilding Argentina (rebirth of Argentina) has reintroduced 15 individuals in Iberá National Park (northeast Argentina). In October 2020, one of the pairs had three cubs, marking the first wild birth of this species on record in the country in 150 years. Photo credit: Ralph Daily
