A flamboyant bird!
It is regularly cited as one of the most beautiful birds in the world. The Lilac-breasted Roller (Coracias Caudatus) is the national bird of Kenya and Botswana. This bird with very colorful plumage lives in eastern Africa. Recognizable by its throat and its lilac-coloured chest, the long-breasted roller is known for its acrobatic flights during courtship displays: At several tens of meters, it performs spectacular dives which are added to rolls and pendulum movements. Another singularity: the Rollers with long strands mate in full flight. Thanks to a huge range (9 million km2), the bird is not considered threatened.
