French oceanographic explorer Jacques-Yves Cousteau dubbed it the most dangerous shark in the world. Recognizable by its white-tinted fins, the longimanus shark can measure up to 4 meters and weigh 170 kilograms. It is suspected of being responsible for many fatal attacks on human beings, more precisely during air crashes or shipwrecks at sea. However, there is little chance of crossing it: the animal lives on average at 180 meters depth.
