It covers 93,000 square kilometers, the size of Portugal. In November 2022, the world's largest seagrass meadow has been found in the deep seas of the Bahamas (Caribbean). Thanks to cameras attached to tiger sharks, the scientific team of the environmental organization Beneath The Waves learned about this ecosystem. The seagrass meadow are important: they stock large amounts of carbon and shelter numerous marine species.
