The smiling turtle is back in Myanmar!

20 years ago it was presumed extinct. Today, its population is estimated at 1,000 individuals in Myanmar (Asia). The Batagur Trivittata turtle, a species endemic to Myanmar, is on the way to being saved. She is nicknamed the smiling turtle because of the shape of her mouth which leaves a permanent smile.
